The West Virginia Pragmatists

We're looking for leaders in West Virginia.

The party grows one state at a time, and each state starts with a few people who lead it there. They build a team, find volunteers, meet legislators and work to bring score voting to West Virginia.

State teams are how a national party becomes real. Tell us where you are and what you'd take on. We'll connect you with others in your state, or help you start the team if you're the first.

Someone on the national team will reach out to talk through your state: who else is there, what the path to a score-voting initiative looks like, and where you fit.

Organize in West Virginia

What would you take on?

  • Lead or co-lead a state team
  • Recruit and organize volunteers
  • Host or run events
  • Meet legislators or testify at hearings
  • Research state election and initiative law

Score voting in West Virginia

Our first goal is getting score voting adopted by the states. It's what makes the rest possible: we won't put candidates on ballots where they can't win, and under today's rules they can't.

Replace winner-take-all elections with score voting and eliminate partisan primaries. Rate every candidate on one ballot: highest rated wins, and you can always give your top score to the candidate you really support.

Voters in West Virginia can't put a law or a constitutional amendment on the ballot by petition. So score voting has to come to West Virginia through the legislature, and the people who elect it.[1][2]

Better leaders are out there. Help us put them in office.

A political party that states its principles, weighs the evidence, and answers for the results.

On the issues, our candidates answer to their voters. On the Principles, they answer to us.

Members stand behind our Principles, the standard we hold our leaders to. On the issues, everyone makes up their own mind.
